Hey y’all! How are you doing? I honestly had no idea what to post, so I pulled a tag that I could fill out and hopefully have some time for writing after I get this typed up….lol…
Honestly, I forgot it was my turn to post, so I’m scrambling. I’m writing a novella (goal of 25k words in 40 days) and editing/writing in Emberling…so it’s bit crazy in my neck of the woods over here…lol…
Also, I had writing encouragement post that went up on Writers’ Vision yesterday, if you would like to check that out!
Anyway, enjoy this bit of insight into Iya and Malcolm! My MCs from Emberling!

Rules
- Mention the creator, Anna. (pingback to the original post.)
- Include the graphic in your post. (See above ^)
- Thank the person that tagged you (and include the link to THEIR post so they know youโve done the tag!).
Answerahem, ask one of your characters to answer these questions! (Make sure they read all the rules too!)- Have your character answer all the questions.
- Nominate as many or as few people as you like!
- Have fun! (Because whatโs the purpose of a tag if it isnโt fun?!?!)
- Also, please fill out this quick, little thing (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc6l4pmRIU81efz6OI4FK82rAmHO9LCsySvZ5CJQ33W6J7LiQ/viewform?usp=sf_link) out so Anna knows how many people have done it!
Whatโs your full name?
Iya, daughter of Balavat Nye and Kya
Malcolm Cabe
How old are you?
We Emberlings don’t really keep up with age…I’d say around 16 to 17 in human years, though.
I’m 19.
Where do you live? (You can be as specific as you want)
We Emberlings reside in Englewood Forest, it runs along the foothills of the Wolfe Mountain Range and butts up against the Meadows of Harvanth. Not many people visit because they fear the creatures that reside in the forest and the Emberlings.
I live in the Meadows of Harvanth, a small village, about two miles from the edge of Englewood, named Lodv.
What has been your greatest achievement in life?
It’s hard to say, but the greatest achievement is probably yet to come…right now, staying alive while men pursue my people has become the only goal.
Saving a girl from giants. Just saying, that was pretty epic….even if that turned out to be something entirely different than what I was expecting in the long run.
Do you have friends? Enemies?
My friends are dead. At least most of them, my Ashven was destroyed. But I’d count Vyk as a friend, though our meeting was passing. And I hope that I can call Malcolm and Ben friends. As for enemies, the entire human population wants me dead. That makes it hard to have many friends….
Ben, or rather Benkendon Jusvin, is my best friend. He may be slightly nosey, slightly annoying, and has his eyes on my younger sister, Mora, but he’s a good chap overall.
Whatโs your hobby/hobbies?
There is no time for hobbies when you are running for your life….
I became the man of the house when I was thirteen and I haven’t had time for hobbies since. Destroying the Emberlings is my one and only goal.
How would you describe your personality? Introvert, extrovert, neat, not-so neat, etc.
Introvert, I’d say, but it’s more fear-induced than anything. The wrong thing could get me killed, so I’ve learned not to say much.
I like quiet. I like peace. I hate trying to voice my thoughts and feelings because I don’t know how to… how do you voice the most private part of your heart?
Describe your family. Siblings, parents, pets, etc.
My Poppa and Meeme were killed by men, but they were so gentle. Always there for me, my Poppa was the village Balavat, or leader, and he was very wise. I have many fond memories of my parents teaching me to do things and loving me and I cling to them with all my heart.
My father was killed when I was thirteen. My mother is a strong woman and she and I have raised my younger sister Mora, and my little brother Keane. I love them all, but I fear failing them…not being there when they need me the most.
Walnuts and Brownies, yay or nay? (I feel like this is an important question)
*Iya and Malcolm exchange a confused look*
*Both shrug and move on*
Favorite book to read? Or if you donโt like to read, something else you like to do?
I used to love telling stories with fire with my Popa. He was so good at making all these little creatures and figures with the fire in his veins.
I’m not a reader…not really. I like practicing with my bow, readying myself for the task ahead of me. I like being prepared.
BONUS! If you had a choice, what would you tell your author? Would you want her to change your story? Explain.
I would make peace. No more death. No more heartache, My parents wouldn’t die…
Iyana. I’d change things with her. Especially how I handled things. I’d take back so many of the hurtful things I’d said, I’d undo my actions if I could, restarting from the moment I found out the truth.
Conclusion
That’s a wrap folks! What your characters names? How old are they? Do they like walnuts on brownies? Let me know in the comments!
Did you enjoy this? Any questions you’d like answered about Malcolm or Iya? Feel free to drop them in the comments! Until next time…
Bless!
Kayti
