Welcome to April!

Hey folks! We’re late welcoming you to the month of April (and we missed welcoming you to a few months, but honestly, it’s been nuts!)! We’re excited to do another one of these posts and let you guys in on what we’ve been up to lately!

Happy late Easter to y’all!

First up, we now have 158 subscribers, and we’re so very blessed and thankful for each and every one of you! That you guys want to follow our blog and you stick around means a ton to us! So thank you for being awesome!

Spring is fast approaching down here in the beauty of the Southern foothills of Appalachia, and we are thankful for it! Even if the temps are going crazy and jumping from the forties to the eighties and back again. At least the humidity isn’t too bad yet.

Alright, so let’s get into some updates! Kayti will educate you guys on what she’s been into, and then Rissy will do likewise, and then Jaidie, and then we’ll give you a group rundown!

Kayti

Wow! The past few months have been a whirlwind! Let’s see what’s new with me…

I wrote and submitted a short story for the Seize the Fight Anthology hosted by Abigail Kay Harris and M. L. Milligan! Time will tell if I’m in the anthology or not, but I will let you guys know when I know! I did a sequel to my story in Seize the Love, which is something I haven’t really got to tell you guys. My story ‘Out of Silence Rising’ was featured in Seize the Love!

I wrote 20,318 words last month! Including my short story and working on Emberling. Close to 5k was the short story, and the rest went into Emberling! Which is now almost 69k and still going strong…lol…the story refuses to end.

I’ve also begun work on a novella this month! Which I’m hoping to have mostly done by May! My goal is to write between 20-25k in 40 days, wish me luck on that…lol…

And that’s about all I’ve been into besides working, which has been sooooooooooooooooooo busy lately! Which is good since I work for my mom, so busy means good for the whole family, but it’s been a lot.

Rissy

Ooof, talking about a busy last few months. So, I started my own dog treat business called Paws Up! But shipping is really expensive, so we’re figuring that aspect of things out right now, like possibly selling to a local store my older sister Cass used to work at. We’re not sure yet.

I’ve been working on my book Stoneflake’s Bane. I’m eight chapters in! Yay! And my friend Kay (whom I met on Writers’ Vision) has been such a blessing and helped me so much with the story! It’s coming together really well! And I couldn’t be more happy!

Oh, and a biggy, I made some friends!!! Yay! I’m super happy to have several friends after having no friends for along time…lol…

I’ve also been baking…if you didn’t know, baking is my past-time so, I’ve baked cookies and cookies and cookies and some cakes, made puddings and eclairs and brownies! Spread out, of course….lol…

Jaidie

Are the other two headings green, yes. Am I a rebel making mine pink, also yes. So, let me see if anything interesting has happened over the last few months. *thinks for a few minutes*

Kayti has been going through the micro edits and macro edits on The Guild of Thieves with me! Which has been super great! We haven’t had many things to fix in the macro edits, and not too bad in the micro either, minus my run-on sentences and horrendous grammar.

I started my next novel! Yay!!! It’s a YA high fantasy with 3 POVs, which is a big step since GT only had one…lol…but I’m enjoying it. Just finished chapter 1 so I’m at my first POV change. This might end up as a Novelette or an Epic because there is a lot of plot! Like a lot!

I spent the last month on one picture…which turned out amazingly well! Me shall include it below! I’ve started working on the cover for Heard in Silence. Oh, and I started an art blog! And an art store if anyone wants to check those out!

Also, this month is my birthday…just thought I’d throw that out there…lol…so we’re going to Barnes and Noble and possibly McKay’s in the next week or so!

Sisters Three

We’ve still been listening to lots of music. Honestly, we barely ever turn the music off all day…hehe…listening to Neverland by Travis Van Hoff right now, which we love!!!! Such a good song!!!! All the vibes!

We started The Dragon Prince Chronicles Book 3! Yay!!! ToA is the initials for the current title, have a whack at the title in the comments, if you guess right we’ll let you know! We’re 23k into the draft, and the story is coming along nicely, a lot has happened in such a short time in the story so we know we have a lot of adding to do once we start the macro edits later this year (after we finish the draft).

We haven’t touched The Never-Ending Trail in a few months, but maybe once we finished ToA we can work on it some and see when we think it should be published.

Oh, we finalized the authors for Heard in Silence and did some editing/beta reading over there, and yeah….overall have kept ourselves really busy!

Conclusion

We’re excited about Jaidie’s birthday and shopping with her friend Amber, and just everything! We’re also happy to have our dance and dulcimer friends (which actually all our dulcimer playing friends do Folk dancing with us too! So, that’s been awesome!)
