Hello Folks! We are so sorry that our blogging schedule has been really, well scattered. We shall strive to do better once December rolls around (and once we finish binge-watching a series on Netflix, which *ahem* is tonight.)

Okay, so with a hearty apology out of the way, now is time for what you all came over here for! Nano updates and story clips! As last time we’ll give you the rundown individually and because you guys are awesome and have stuck with us during this time of not posting, we shall give you a special clip of something at the end of the post, so stick around or you know, just skip to the bottom…lol…

I finished the first week of Nano with a little over 4k, most importantly I am happy with how Dice’s book is progressing (even if I do keep getting stuck on the redemption arch). Also, big news, Dice’s book passed 50k! Although obviously, that has been the work of the past several months, but I did it! I passed 50k in a book! In honor of the occasion, I present a small clip from my WIP!

Renn scowled. “Do you know what your problem is, Dice?”

“I wasn’t aware I had one,” I replied, spinning on my heels and continuing down the tight alley that was scattered with crates, torn cloth, broken rum bottles, and rotting food.

Glass shattered and crates toppled over before Renn made it to my side again, cheeks flushed. “You,” Renn jabbed his finger at my chest. “You are…Your problem is that you are so dense and self centered and…”

“Realistic, annoying, your friend since childhood? Yes, I know.”

Renn rolled his eys. “You know sometimes I wonder why I even put up with you.”

My Nano goal is to write every day, but Sundays….and I’ve done that minus we had a homeschool thing one day and I missed a day *hangs head* but I made up for it the next day by writing more! So, here is a bit from my WIP!

“Are you alright, Xavier?” the master asked.

I looked up at him through droopy eyes. How could I tell him what was going through my mind? How could I tell him what I was thinking and feeling when I didn’t even know myself, emotions charged through my veins and overwhelmed me and yet none of them found their way to my lips.

Well, I am happy to say that I have hit my Nano goal every day! Or surpassed it just a touch, like a little touch…lol…I’m just going for the write 1,667 words a day thing and have been able to achieve that, so hopefully, if I can keep this up and will finish with 50k!

Right now, I have 17,281 words! And as a special treat to you all over here….a piece of my work, pardon the rough edges…lol…this is my favorite bit of banter so far!

I patted my horse’s neck, running my head down to his shoulder. He snorted and danced a step or two. “Whoa, easy,” I breathed near his ear.

“Still afraid of horses, Mal?” Ben’s teasing lilt made me stiffen.

“I told you not to call me that.”

“What? Afraid?” Been smirked, his blue eyes shining with mirth.

I danced Shar toward him. “No, Mal, it sounds like a girl.”

Ben’s brow crinkled. “Well, maybe if you weren’t afraid of horses, like a girl, I could call you a more manly name.” Ben grinned and tossed his dark hair from his eyes.

Sage plopped down beside Kahtan, a grin as wide as the sky on his tanned face. “Thon was muckle fun. Donae ye think?”

Gaven chuckled. “It was until an overbearing master made me surrender.”

Kahtan shook his head, running a hand through his dark locks. “You know you needed to rest.”

“That does not mean I have to enjoy surrender.” Gaven’s jaw set, but his eyes held a spark. “You know I hate surrendering.”

Wixley laughed. “Yeah, you’re not very good at keeping that a secret.”

“Never said I was.” A corner of Gaven’s mouth worked up and then he was flashing his signature grin, one that didn’t come around often enough.
