How’s everyone doing? Things have been crazy busy on my end between writing, editing, drawing, and oh, yeah getting ready for my next book release Of Truth & Treason! What’s that? Well, you’re in the right place because I came here to tell you and share some fun tidbits!🧡🏯🐅

What genre is this story written in?

Of Truth & Treason is a New Adult, non-magical, fairytale retelling. Yes, thats a mouthful

What is the books estimated page count?

*ahem* the official page count is 260(counting front and back matter)

What is the beautiful, complex, or intriguing land this story is set in? When is it set?

The story is set in the China-inspired empire of Zāhn Hu and the Japan-inspired empire of Bān Bao. The story takes place in late autumn.

Where did you find inspiration for the book?

Well, for starters Mulan, and I mean both the Disney cartoon and live-action, and the original Asian ballad of Mulan. Besides that, reading articles about medieval China, Japan, and Korea. Lots and lots of research, hehe!

What is the theme of this story, and how does it impact the characters?

Trusting in the waiting, keeping the faith even when the answer to our prayers isn’t what we wanted. Learning to trust in the Lord even when we cannot see His plan amid the pain and sorrow around us. Learning to surrender our own ideas and desires and lean on His strength and truth.

Who are main characters?

Lan Tallan, a dishonored soldier desperate to find out the truth about his father and restore honor to his clan.

And Shang Nyah, a lieutenant who wants nothing more than to end the war and keep her family safe.

Who is the ultimate evil, and what is he/she doing?

Uh…I can’t tell you that because its a surprise and if I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore

Who are the side characters and why will they become my favorite?

Lieutenant Shu Draykon of the House of the Dragon and he will be your favorite because he is hilarious and awesome at the same time and he has a super cute cream-sicle colored tiger named Yow, whats not to like?

In all seriousness tho, he was my favorite character to write, he is the comedic relief to Tallan’s emo attitude and overall a great and loyal friend! (P. S. He’s my Mushu inspired character so…)

What’s a quote that describes each MC?

“I’m not a coward,” I said, trying to keep my voice even and firm despite the turmoil of emotions raging in my chest. “I’m going to fight, redeem our name and restore our honor. I have to do something, I have to know the truth.”

Smoke mingled with the smells of roasted meat and joyful laughter, reminding me that these weren’t enemies. Not monsters to be slaughtered. They were people, just like us. Confused and blinded by their hate and fear, but people.
Why couldn’t we live together in peace?

What’s your favorite thing about the book?

The tiger and snow leopard war cats for one, they’re very cool if I do say so, and I do because I love big cats.

And just…yeah, I love it all, so hard to pick just one thing!

First few paragraphs since the first few sentences are just singular words..lol!
