Hello, everyone! This is Percy Fudgbottom live from Sisters Three with some interesting news concerning the trio’s youngest member, it would seem she is spinning out book faster than she canβ
*Jaidie prances into room and knocks Percy off stage*
Hey-oh, everyone! Ignore Fudgbottom, he just loves drama, you know? I’m totally fine, everything is under…
*glares at thieves who are trying to steal from my pirates while a crazy collie rushes by being chased by three ill-behaved dragons*
Ahem, like I said everything is one hundred percentβ
*Steffen and Diego knock a bunch of art supplies over as they dash for the collie a weird bird with teeth chasing them*
βunder control. One minute! *slides out of room to go wrangle my characters, locking the fantasy characters and contemporary characters in different rooms so they’ll stop fighting*
*Percy finds his microphone* Like I was seeing, it seems Jaiden has bitten off more than she can chew, three WIPs and art have really gotten her in a pickle*
*Jaidie knocks him away again* It’s fine! Really guys! I’m fine, *laughs nervously* I actually have exciting news!! I finished Project CP and also finished editing Brothers Divided, and…STARTED A NEW BOOK!!!!
You can learn more about Project CP and Borthers Divided by signing up for Sisters Three’s handy-dandy newsletter!
I will hopefully be sharing a lit more info on Brothers Divided soon, so keep an eye out for all the updates, blurb releases, beta reading forms, and all that jazz! π
But for now, I wanted to tell y’all some about my new book Project ID, because guys…IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS PROJECT!!! π so without further ado, let’s go chat about my baby…I mean book!
*Percy lowers voice* Or did she???
THE QUESTIONS
1. What first sparked the idea for this novel?
Oh, wow! Well, I’ve had it for it a while, inspired by a short-story I wrote likeβ¦three years ago called βWhen You Believeβ, which was inspired by a cloud I saw that looked like a dragon! π
The short-story was about a boy with an overactive imagination who saw a cloud that looked like a dragon and asked the question βWhat if dragons were real, but lived in the clouds so no one can see them?β Suddenly he starts seeing strange things, weird flickers of light that he chases until, BAM! Cloud dragon!
I wrote the story a really long time ago so it was pretty bad but the concept was decent. And just as the years passed and I kept seeing more and more kids on devices to entertain themselves instead of playing, and with the rise of AI and everyone using it *growls* instead of actually putting the work and dare I say, passion? Into creating β¦well, the story entered my mind again, and changed and morphed into something way more then just a boy discovering cloud-dragons.
It became about the importance of creativity, about the importance of childish innocence, about simply being a kid. No makeup, fancy clothes, or screens, just woods, craft supplies, and a crazy imagination. The dragons morphed into more species, and became something so much more important.
It became Project ID, a story about imagination, innocence, and time. π and the rest is history!!
*Percy blinks* Wow, that was deepβ¦I mean *coughs* Interesting, moving on, we have a schedule to keep people. *briskly walks away*
2. Share a blurb (or just an overall summary)!
Ooofβ¦I’m terrible at explaining things, but I’ll give you the hook line!
What if your imaginary friends were actually guardians sent to protect you?
Interesting right???
Like I said above Project ID, is a story about the importance and really, power of the imagination, of children’s innocence and creativity.
The story will follow our MC and his new friends (and a cute corgi!) as they all struggle with thier individual problems and other issues like imaginary monsters they conjure up in thier minds, that might not be so imaginary after allβ¦
And thier common enemy as well, the Clockwork Dragon.
3. Where does the story take place? What are some of your favorite aspects of the setting?
It’s set in Oklahoma in a made-up town called Ordinary. Well, for one it reminds of one of my favorite vacations when we went to NM, but we stayed the night in Oklahoma on the way there and back. Both of our Air BnB’s were pretty crappy sadly, (well, the last one was nice, minus the fact that we couldn’t drink the water due to the HUGE amount of round-up contaminating the corn-maze on the propertyβ¦lolβ¦) but that’s okay, because both houses have actually inspired my MC’s new house that he hates, so it worked out I suppose XD
I have admit, I’m a mountain girl and the part of Okla we were staying in was as flat as a pancake and HOT! So I kind of set the story in my made-up town of Ordinary, Oklahoma to make my MC pretty miserable and to contrast with his vivid imaginationβ¦
*Percy clears throat and ushers me across the stage* Next question.
4. Tell us about your protagonist(s).
My protagonist is a ten-year-old boy with overreactive imagination, Ander Atwater!! π He’s pretty shy and has a lot of self-doubt problems which he tends to keep to himself. Instead of allowing his family to help him work through his issues he hides them away by being a mager introvert.
He also loves drawing but gets really embarrassed about it, thinking people will judge him for his βchildish doodlesβ as he puts it. (Wonder where he gets that from? *Percy glances at Jaidie who laughs nervously* Definitely not any other artist I know!)
He has both parents but doesn’t have a very close relationship with them due to his closed attitude and not telling them about his problems, which make it look like he’s just causing trouble for fun sometimes, poor guy *pats his head* And he has an older brother, Zane, age fifteen, who isβ¦well, such an older brother, if you know, you know XD
5. Who (or what) is the antagonist?
The Clockwork Dragon, a dragon made completely out of gears with a ticking clock heart. He is the keeper of time, making sure it moves smoothly and stays on track, but latelyβ¦he is loosing his patience, speeding up time so that children will grow up faster and have more time to be adults and be of βreal use to societyβ. In other wordsβ¦ he is stealing childrens innocence. *waggles eyebrows for effect*
6. What excites you the most about this novel?
Oooβ¦hard! I’ve had this story idea for a while, so all of it excites me!! π but I’m really excited about all the cute dragos! They are such a thrill to write and draw! And I’m really excited about writing all the imagination scenes, where the characters justβ¦well, it’s hard to explain but it’s going to be awesome and so fun!!!
7. Is this going to be a series? standalone? something else?
A standalone, probably a novela or a chapter-book, depending on how long the characters decide to mame the story XD
8. Are you plotting? pantsing? plansting?
Umβ¦hard to say, I sorta do my own weird thingβ¦lolβ¦Plansting I guess? I have a plot, I know where I need to start and where/how I want it to end and what I need to do (and want to do) to get there, but how the characters go about getting to those plot-points and what they do in between is entirely up to them, keeps it real and exciting you know? π
9. Name a few unique elements in this story.
Ooo, wowβ¦hmm, well, like I said above, imagination is very, very real for one! Anything you can imagine is real if you only have the mind to see it and believe in it!! Your imaginary friends are actually shape-shifting dragons sent to protect your innocence and guide you, that’s all I can say about thier jobs for now, but it’s pretty cool, if I do say so π
*Percy rolls his eyes*
There’s also The Guardian of Innocence, but no, I shouldn’t mention him just yet.
*Percy rubs forehead* Next, thenβ¦
10. Share some fun βextrasβ of the storyΒ
Here’s a fun graphic i made that captures a bit of the story’s vibe! And Ander’s Moodboard! π

Conclusion:
So what do you guys think? Are you intrigued? Do you like stories with dragons??? Would you be interested in more info about this project?
What about Brothers Divided and Project CP? Should I do this with them as well?
Let me know in de commentsessss!!
*Percy clears throat* And we are still rolling as Jaidie drowns in her work once more, how much longer will it be until she breaks under the pressure??
PERCY!!!
*all the lights go out as Jaidie yanks a cord out of the wall*
*Percy cringes* And we’re out…
