Hey folks! As some of you may know, Hurricane Helene has ripped devastation across Western NC, Eastern TN, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida. Western NC experienced flash flooding with over 33 inches of rain in some areas, that combined with the mountains, rivers, lakes, and creeks in the area left ruin behind.

My sisters and I are from Western NC, just 2 hours away from where the devastation starts and then continues for 4 hours through the state of NC before moving into Eastern TN. There are towns that no longer exist. Chimney Rock, NC is gone, just to name one.

There are families who have lost loved ones. And…guys, I can’t even begin to explain how bad it is. Thus, I felt the need to do something. I can’t drive, so I can’t get up there to help but I do write books…so I put together a fundraiser.

Indie Books for Hurricane Relief!

From October 7th through the 11th all profits from my books, and Rissy and Jaidie’s books will be going to hurricane relief. What’s more, I reached out to some friends…who reached out to some friends and we now have over 50 books on the list! And an Etsy store!

Over 20 authors have agreed to donate the profit from some of their books or, in a few cases, all of their books to the relief efforts this week. I can’t tell you how amazing this has been. I reached out on Monday and by Thursday I had a handful of people signed up but by Saturday evening the number had jumped and people were still contacting me asking if there was still time to join the fundraiser. As I write this I have two more authors sending me their books.

God is good.

In Conclusion:

This is a marathon not a sprint. This is something my sister, who is highly involved in the relief efforts, has been reminding my family of. We can do a lot now, but we also need to remember these families have lost everything, their homes, their cars, their towns (in some cases), and their families in many cases.

We need to make sure we don’t forget them. Need to make sure we are here for them just as strong next month as we are now.
