Welcome to September!

Welcome to September and goodbye August…lol…We haven’t done one of these in, eh, two months. But honestly life has been a bit crazy, but mostly in a good way.

We’ve hung out with friends, family, friends and family…lol…went hiking, ate a lot of ice cream because we love ice cream and overall enjoyed the sticky, humid, hot weather by eating lots of ice cream…lol…

Did we mention we like ice cream? There’s also a kind you can only get in the south called, Mayfield’s, their mint chocolate chip is the best! And they have a awesome flavor called Moose Tracks that is epic as well!

Kayti also accidently ended up redesigning the site, again. She really should stop pushing buttons. She’s not quite done with the updates everywhere but she did get a lot of it looking nice, including the home page, Newsletter page, and Our Books!

So, enough about updates and ice cream, let us introduce you guys to what we got done in August, and the previous month that we missed. 🙂

Well, since June I finished Emberling and ran through a first round of edits on the manuscript as well! I’m really happy with how it turned out and I’m very excited to one day share it with all of you! Right now I’m waiting to hear back about a proposal I sent out! We shall see!

I also just finished running through edits on my western and I have just a few more plot changes to make before I send it to some friends. I’m conflicted about the story a bit, but I still really like it…lol…

And I’ve been working on a new Post WWI project! It’s a hard story to write because my MC is so broken and it hurts to write about him, but I’m enjoying the project because I know there’s light at the end of the tunnel for him.

And, I think that’s about it… I’ve been working a lot and getting ready for the release of Heard in Silence on September 8th! As well as putting together a team for my site Writers’ Vision!

I’ve got a good bit of writing done! As I said in my last blog post I’m halfway done with my fantasy, Stoneflake’s Bane! Which I am so super excited about!

I’ve made all sorts of cookies and cakes for friends and family the last two months!

I’ve also been working with our dog, Ruger, and teaching him a few manners. He now mostly stays in his chair while we eat dinner. (no he’s no in a chair at the table) Ruger has a little half-moon chair he lays in while we eat or work in the kitchen and he likes it, a lot actually…lol…

I finished my MG contemporary novella!!!! Yay! Now I’m letting the project sit while I finish getting GT ready for publishing and start a new project!

Surprise! I started a new book! If you want know more about this exciting new YA fantasy project you’ll have to subscribe to the newsletter! Which I advise doing since my sisters and I always share snippets from our current WIPs over there!

I’ve also been drawing! I’m working on a line of HTTYD pictures, but haven’t quite finished them yet, though my latest one turned out really well! I also, finished the cover for GT and I’m bursting to share it with all of you! The cover reveal will be at the end of the month so we’ll have sign ups open soon! And I revamped a 6 or 7 month old sketch of Dice and am so happy with how my boy turned out!!! Eeee!

Anyway, all in all the last two months have been pretty good!

As a group we’ve almost reached novel status with the first draft of DPC book 3, which isn’t too surprising as a) there’s a lot of story to unpack in this one and b) the draft is a bit, just a wee bit, cleaner than the other drafts…lol…but we’re super excited to finish the story!

We’ve been talking about other ideas and which ones we’ll begin working on once DPC 4 is written and the series concluded. We’re exploring some different ideas we have and just considering the options.

We started another round of edits on our MG survival/sci-fi novella The Never-Ending Trail and are excited to try and actually flesh the story out more. The characters get us so tickled we forget to edit 90% of the time…lol…so here’s to another try!

And that is the rundown for the month!

What have you guys been up to? Are you excited about fall? Have you signed up for our newsletter? That’s going out soon with special snippets from our WIPs so don’t forget to sign-up if you haven’t already!

Let us know what you’ve been up to, whether you’ve started school, and how excited you are for fall in the comments below!

Yours in Stories and Dreams!

Hooray for September!!! Hooray for fall!!!

It was cool and rainy earlier this week, and it’s given me autumn fever, haha. (That’s a thing now if it wasn’t already–like spring fever. 😜) We get quite a bit of rain in the fall where I live, which I love. I’m also super excited to see the bright autumn moon. It’s so bright and beautiful, and when the sky is clear, the trees cast shadows! The autumn moon was one of my main inspirations for my WIP, so I’m more than excited to see it again, get that feeling I had when the idea sprouted, you know?

I’m also hoping this fall to watch this Cartoon Network series called “Over the Garden Wall” which has such vintage fall vibes, and I’d love to try and watch it on a rainy day after work. We don’t have regular TV, so I need to find it on my phone… I listened to the theme song, “Into the Unknown” sung by Jack Jones… GORGEOUS!!!! Another song I’ve been listened to very recently is “Shine On Harvest Moon”, a crooning song.

This fall will be my first after graduating high school! I don’t think it has really set into my head yet that I’m actually a high school graduate… Feels more like a prolonged summer so far. 😛

Sorry for my long comment, the change of season’s got me excited.
