Wow! It has been a whirlwind around our place lately…whew. Honestly, we wish we could explain how it’s been a whirlwind but we don’t remember half the reasons…the main thing is that it’s been hectic, we’ve got a lot done, but don’t remember half of it…lol…mainly it’s been helping out around the house so our mom can work more.
Anyway, here we are! Our 100 Subscriber Q&A is finally ready…(now we’re at 113! Woo-hoo! Thanks so much to all you amazing people who follow and read our little corner of the interweb!)
This post is super long!!!!! So pull up a rocking chair, grab a glass of decaf sweet tea (Rissy’s allergic to caffeine soo…), and kick back to enjoy! Or if you’re not from the south and have never had sweet tea (which the very idea is insulting to us) then grab a glass of lemonade!
Without further chit chat here are the long-awaited answers to your questions!
Rose’s Questions
Do you have a favorite family story?
Well, there’s one story our mom tells about her childhood…her grandmother had someone over for breakfast and the guy had a glass eye and his eye fell out and into his gravy…mom was horrified and then he popped it in his mouth, sucked the gravy off, and put it back in…lol…talking about a little girl being mortified…lol…
But of personal family stories probably the time we drove our van out west to Colorado…we were going up to Highland Mary’s, and if you know that hike you know the road is horrible, dad drove us so far in, and then he wanted to keep going but mom made him pull over…it was close to a cliff edge. She made us all get out the side furthest from the cliff and walk the remaining half mile to the trailhead…she was so mad at dad for taking the minivan that far…lol…she kept saying he was going to kill us all, but dad’s a great driver so he did just fine…haha…
According to a friend of mine, “y’all” means one person, “all y’all” means a group. Is this true, or just sub-regional-within-Southern dialect?
Y’all means one or many, whatever. Sometimes if there’s only one person we use ya…we use all y’all and y’all for groups and sometimes y’all for a single person…depends on the circumstance and day. Technically Y’all is supposed to mean more than one…but we Southerners tend to ignore quite a few grammar rules…lol…
~Favorite chocolate-including recipe?
Hahaha, is this a trick question? We’ll eat just about anything chocolate if it tastes good…hahaha…so, we’re hedging here and gonna say if it taste good and is chocolate we probably like it! (Though we will say our great grandmother’s fudge recipe is amazing!!! As are Bull Cookies!)
Riley’s Questions
If you could play any instrument, what would you play?
Kayti would go for violin, Rissy would go for guitar, and Jaidie would do piano.
What is your favorite book cover on any book?
Okay, let’s see…The Wars of the Realm series covers are cool! The Girl who Could See has a cool cover! Spark has a cool dragony cover! Wingfeather Saga has some epic covers! Of Fire and Ash is awesome to look at, we’ve all yet to read it…lol…we could probably go on…haha…
What is your favorite thing, and your least favorite thing about summertime?
Favorite thing…Oh, the Sweet Tooth being open! It’s an awesome ice cream place! And the flowers!
Least favorite, heat, bugs, humidity, heat, bugs, humidity, yellow jackets, snakes, heat, humidity, and yeah…not being ungrateful but it’s really humid which makes it feel so much hotter! Plus, refreshing rain is non-existent, it only makes things sticker! But we love our home state…lol…
If you could go visit anywhere, where would you go?
Alaska! Cold, refreshing…yes! Northern Lights! *heart eyes*
If you could visit any fictional place, where would it be?
Hmm, hard one. Narnia…no one would have time to miss us, and we’d lose no time which is good because we already don’t have enough time…haha…
What has been your favorite vacation in the past?
*Gasps* Our parents have taken us to some cool places…but last year was one of our favorites! New Mexico was awesome! We stayed on this little ranch and it was so cool! No humidity, awesome hikes, awesome tamale place, we listened to The False Prince because there was no tv or internet which was amazing!
Joelle’s Questions
Which do you prefer: beanbag chairs, swivel chairs, or rocking chairs?
Beanbag!! You can chill in them, hit your siblings with them (yes we’ve done that), and just flop into it…we only had one for a very short time before it exploded (big surprise since we were hitting each other with it. To set the record straight…the boys started it! *points accusingly at older brothers*).
Do you have pets?
Yes! See above pet question…we love our Rue!!! He’s on the home page on the blog if anyone wants to see him! Also, everyone in the south has a dog…like pretty sure all the locals have a dog. Never met one who didn’t…lol…
What is your dream pet (fantasy included)?
Dragon!!! Would be seriously so cool! Can we have Toothless? Like please!!!!!
What human would you most like to talk to face-to-face that you’ve never talked to before (i.e. Tolkien, Peter Pan (if he counts as a human XD), a friend, etc.)?
Friends since most our friends are virtual…we’d like to meet Abbi and Saraina and Grace, Kristina, Vanessa, Joelle, Issabelle, Rhys…all you who follow our blog because there are way too many to name off right here!!! (Also, Griffin and Picket!!! Please!) (Note: for those of you who are lost Griffin is Abbi’s dog and Picket is Saraina’s…hahaha)
Where did you take your favorite vacation?
NEW MEXICO!!!! Woo-hoo!!! See above answer! Did we mention the tamales were to die for! That it was a super small town with only a family dollar…it was great!!!
Have you ever heard of the word “zonked”?
Yeah, who hasn’t? Let’s make Deal! “He just got zonked. Zonked, zonked, zonked.” You mean everyone doesn’t know this word? Not everyone watches old game shows?
Issabelle’s Questions
What made you start writing?
We’d love to tell you this epic story of inspiration that just hit us and we had to write it and it was….but no. Basically, our older siblings all got too ‘old’ for games and we started just hanging out, the three of us, and playing with our…*ahem*…Schleich horses and dad paused in our bedroom doorway and watched us for a while (not uncommon, you know how parents are) and said the game was cool we should write that story down. So…we did. It was horrendous, but we kept writing and now it’s kind of what we do…lol…and that’s it.
What would you say is the coolest part of being an author?
Talking to imaginary people, jk. Or roleplaying your book while walking your dog and your neighbors thinking you’re crazy, jk. Um, in all seriousness maybe seeing how much someone likes your book! That’s a good feeling.
What’s your favorite chocolate brand (Hershey? Kit-Kat? Etc.)
Lindt! High end we know…we don’t get them much but when we do….mmmh, so good!!!! They are sooo good! We had a strawberry one once and it was great! But the dark chocolates are amazing!!!!
What’s your favorite Bible verse and why?
Wow! Hard to pick…our dad’s a pastor so we’ve read and heard a lot of verses and honestly, that’s a hard one. Psalm 27:1 is great! Hebrews 11:1…really awesome! Romans 8:28 is a good reminder! Proverbs 3:5 is one of the top ones though! It’s a great reminder to trust God with everything!
Faith Elizabeth
What are your sibling’s names?
Kayla, Cassie, Matthew, Kyler, and we’re gonna get technical. So we are adopted, well legal guardian whatever…so Matt is our bro, and Kayla, Cassie, and Kyler are actually our cousins but it’s been 13 years so who’s counting. Anyway, we have another brother Dakota who lives with our birth parents.
Do you have any nieces or nephews yet?
Does Cassie’s dog count? Gus is the closest we have to a nephew…lol…Kayla is married to a Viking named Phil, but they have no kids…yet. (And the Viking thing is an inside family joke…haha…)
Are any of your older siblings interested in writing?
Kayla wrote a children’s book titled ‘You are Beautiful’ and she writes other short stories and plays, also journals. Cassie writes blog stuff on flyfishing and conservation, Matt used to write books and fanfiction but he doesn’t anymore. And Kyler writes songs! So, we are a very writing-inclined family, which mom says we get from dad…lol…
What is the story behind all three of you becoming interested in writing together?
See the above answer to Issi’s question! Also, since we were about…ehh, 11, 8, and 7 we’ve done everything together!!! We’d buy the same coloring books to color the same pictures at the exact same time! Haha, we grew out of that and have different interests except for writing and reading, but we still get along well! Even our birthdays fall on the same day of the week every year….we all have Saturday birthdays this year! 😉 And most people think we’re triplets and then some people say we look nothing alike…haha…now we’re just rambling.
How has your dad supported and invested in your writing?
He got us started. He’s prayed over us and our writing and asked how things are going writing-wise. He always tried to make us tell stories around the campfire. He used to tell us stories or read us stories before bed, and if Dad was gone our older sisters would do puppet shows with their hands. Dad read us all sorts of stories growing up and has always supported our love of the unbelievable. Mom has too!
Virginia’s Questions
How did you come up with your group name?
We were really hoping someone would ask this question! We love this story, not to be braggy. Well, it all started at Sunday dinner when we told everyone we wanted to start a blog and publish books. They thought we needed a group name, so everyone was throwing out options like, Sister Trio…Sisters of the South…random things. We’d always been called the Little Girls (our older sisters being The Girls). But anyway, our papaw looks around the table and says, “Well, Nana and her sisters are The Three Sisters…so how about Sisters Three? Carry on the legacy of sorts.” He didn’t say it exactly like that, but it’s the gist. Sisters Three is what we have been from that day forward! Thanks, Papaw!!!
What are your favorite book genres?
Primarily Fantasy, Contemporary, Fiction, Action Adventure, Sci-Fi…that sort of thing…though Kayti branches out a lot more.
Kristina’s Questions
What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Mint Chocolate Chip…or Moose Tracks…or Cookies and Cream…can’t pick!!!!
Where do I sign up for the newsletter?
Right, here!
Saraina’s Questions
What’s one bookish opinion you can’t agree with each other on? 😜
Uh-oh…um, romance. Rissy and Jaidie don’t like it…Kayti does. So, it’s understood that Kayti can read it, but the others won’t…lol…it’s okay if it’s mixed in, but not a whole book about it. Yuck! *Rissy and Jaidie fist bump*
Favorite Western?
Man, every western we ever watched just flooded in…lol…McClintock, Hondo, The Rifleman, The Long Ranger, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Friendly Persuasion, The Angel and the Bad Man, The Searchers, Rio Bravo…we could go on…lol…we love a lot of them!
What do you have for breakfast most days?
Muffins…but if we could have anything it’d be more fruity stuff…but as we all know fruit is expensive…lol…especially when you try to eat organic.
What fictional characters are your siblings most like?
Wow! Hard one…um, hmm…never really considered that. Not sure…honestly, we’ve never read any characters that can describe our siblings…we have random hobbies and interests…lol…Kayla loves mushrooms, like she knows every kind and loves to take pictures of them and she’s a yoga fanatic and is really sweet-tempered. Cassie is a fly-fishing guide and can be so sarcastic, funny, and sweet…lol…Matthew is pretty laid back, plays video games, and is a competitive archer…and Kyler likes working out, plays guitar, shoots competitive archery, and is not afraid to say it like he sees it.
So, does anyone know a character that sounds like any of our siblings…lol…
Tauriel’s Questions
How many siblings do you have?
Two older sisters, two older brothers, and a younger brother who lives with our birth parents. And our dog Ruger…lol…little bro.
What’s your favorite age been?
We don’t know…we’re trying to decide and then we think of something bad that happened that year…lol…not really, we haven’t thought about it that much. More focusing on living the age we are right now to the best of our abilities.
What is a secret obsession you have?
We can’t think of any…lol…our family is very open with each other…everyone knows what everyone’s into and we all get along pretty great…lol…if we find something we like we usually tell each other and compare notes with our parents and siblings.
Is there a movie you can watch over and over without getting bored, and if so, what is it?
Uh, not really. When we were younger and got a new movie we and our siblings would watch it for like a month solid and act it out and repeat the funny lines…and yeah, that gets old. Needless to say, after a few months of that our parents started getting us new movies more often, but we’d always end up with a favorite that we did that with…lol…we’ve never had cable or satellite tv so, we always bought DVD’s until we moved, and our Great Aunt got us Fire Sticks…haha….
What is your favorite Bible verse?
See above answer!
Rhys’s Questions
What are your thoughts on comic books? Do they hold the same weight in your mind as reading a novel?
Never been into comic books so we honestly can’t say….sorry, Rhys. Actually, we’ve never read a comic book…or picked one up…wow, we might need to get out more…haha….
Lillian’s Questions
What is your favorite flower grown naturally in your homestate?
Seriously? Our dad’s a flower guy…he’s showed us so many awesome plants and orchids and just like awe-inspiring things! So, we can’t really say…but we’ll name a few! Bleeding heart, Purple and Orange Fringe Orchids, Bee Balm, Turk’s Cap Lillies, Black-Eyed Susans, Painted Trilliums, Trillium Vaseyi, Yellow Wake Robins, and so many others!!! Lol…
What is your favorite Western series (either book or tv)?
Western TV series…wow! This a who nother can of worms…lol…The Lone Ranger, The Rifleman, Daniel Boone (If it counts), Bordertown (Love this show!!!!), The Virginiana, and Wanted Dead or Alive (we don’t usually like B&W because we’re always trying to fill in the blanks with color…lol…but that’s a good show!) And we could probably come up with more if you gave us time…lol…
Favorite sibling memory?
Barefoot soccer! Painful, but so worth it! Sometimes our older sisters would keep their shoes on, which happened to be logging boots, and that hurt but it was always soooooo fun! Oh, and Whoppie tag! We’d play that with our siblings and family friends! It was always great! We’ve been told it’s like, Flashlight tag, freeze tag, Ghost in the graveyard, and tag mixed in…but you also have a base or safe area because we had asthma growing up and had to have a space to catch our breath.😉
Also, we’d play for hours! From like dusk till…well, till our parents made us come inside…lol…or leave to go home.
Which of your characters do you relate to the most?
Hmmm, Rissy says Feebie…Feebie is fiery, and has an overly protective brother (relatable our bothers try to smother us when they think something is remotely unsafe), she can relate with her confusion about her brother not letting her do stuff because he wants to protect her.
Jaidie says…Deigo. Deigo is shy except around people he knows, loves horses, and wants to make other people happy.
Kayti says…probably Kasper. Kasper would do anything for his twin Jasper, whatever it took to protect him or save him…he’s willing to do what’s right and isn’t afraid to speak up for those he loves or what he believes in.
Which of your characters is the complete opposite of you?
Jaidie…Easy! Dangyr…serious anger issues, dramatic past, really hurting inside! I feel for this boy!!!! And of course, all our villains but we’re pretty sure you meant of the good guys…lol…
Kayti…Probably Daniel, somethings are similar but he’s way more angry and prickly and just, very angry inside.
Rissy…Probably, Darius, I’m similar in some ways but he talks more than me, and is braver, and more harsher with his words and actions.
Hey guys…we all are opposite of our D characters…hahaha…not surprising since we recently discovered we have a love for names with D….Diego, Dangyr, Darius, Drennan, Darvin, Darren, Dieter, Derek, Daniel, Davie, Dice….hahaha…we feel like we’re forgetting some…lol…
Anonymous Questions
How many pets do you all have?
At our house, we have one dog, Ruger. And a rabbit, Smallsy-Jo…but technically we own two more dogs who stay at our grandmother’s since we moved and their names are Hunter and Wayne. (Though because of our accent Hunter sounds more like Hunner…lol…)
If you could have another pet, which animal would it be?
Horse if we’re being unrealistic since we have nowhere to keep one…lol…If we’re being realistic, another dog we’d name Winchester, or a hamster we’d name Hammy, or a bearded dragon we’d name Smaug…lol…that’d be so funny!
What is the hardest genre for you to read or write (or both)?
Horror…we don’t read it, don’t write, don’t even watch it…avoid it at all cost…lol…does that count? Of course, it does.
Introverts, extroverts, or ambiverts?
Rissy and Jaidie are introverts, and Kayti is an ambivert…Jaidie is close to being an ambivert…but not quite…lol…
What are each of your personality types, if you know them?
This made us take a test…lol…actually two different ones because we had a hard time getting one to match the way Kayti is…so, we finally found one… Jaidie is an ISFP – every time she took the test. Rissy is an INFP – every time she took the test. Kayti is an INFJ with only like 55% introvert so technically an ambivert…lol…third time was the charm before any of the results sounded like her…haha…had to go to a different site.
Is a hot dog a sandwich?
No. A hot dog is a hot dog…not a sandwich. And before you ask…a hamburger is not a sandwich either, too awesome to be a sandwich!
How long does it take for a story to be finished?
Well, it depends on the story. The trick to knowing when a story is finished is to have this feeling…this sense that this is the end that everything is the way you want and finalized enough for you to move on. Then it’s on to editing, editing, editing, editing, alpha reading, editing, editing, editing, beta reading, editing, editing…and then you should feel ready to publish.
Who’s your favorite character that you’ve written?
*Gasps* How could you?! Lol…we’ll do group and separate on this one…
Sisters Three – Probably our boys from the Dragon Prince Chronicles who we are so excited for you guys to meet!!! Sage, Gaven, Wixley, and Kahtan (The MC)…we love these guys! And Nark! He comes into DPC #2…but he is so great guys!!! Lol…the humor these guys share is so fun to write!!!
Kayti – Fledge is a dear, from World of Silence, and definitely one of my faves! Lou is quickly rising as a favorite even though he’s just a side character…(he’s getting his own story…so yeah…) And Kasper and Jasper were so fun to write back in the day when I was working on them…their brother bond! My heart! I need to go back to those guys!!!
Rissy – Oh, come on…I know I have characters. Alex, his sarcasm is great! I didn’t know I could write humor until Alex came along and my sisters had such a hard time editing, they were laughing so hard…lol…the traffic scene, no pizza scene, no cafeteria scene…oh, man all so much fun to write!!! Also, love my boy Darius, he’s a ranger and so fun to write! Oh, and Emily…she was so sweet! Even when Alex is weird…lol…
Jaidie – Oh wow! I like Dice right now, his sarcasm…and Renn with his clumsiness…lol…but Diego and Steffen are great too!!! *Hugs all my boys*
Done!

Two instruments, cool! Our older sisters each play two, but when were adopted there had to be some cuts on that sort of thing…lol….We get that, sweet tea is just such a staple round here, we love it!

Aaaaah, COOL!! Thanks for answering my questions! X)
And to answer yours:
What was your favorite vacation? (The only 2 vacations I’ve had were a week-long trip to my friend’s place in the very tip-top of Missouri *also the closest I’ve ever been to the South…* and a 2-day trip for my cousin’s wedding, about 4 hours away from home, but still in-state. Both were fairly awesome but for different reasons…)
Do you play an instrument?
Ahahaha… No. And you’re grateful I don’t. XD
Do you have any pets, you are required to answer this question we want to know what kind and their name!
(Does the toad in the corner of the yard count? And we used to have a yellow freshwater snail named Rick Astlina, but she got too big and we gave her to a nice chap at my dad’s work who has a huge tank. Like 50 gallons, seriously.)
How many siblings do you have?
Six: They’re all very intelligent and fairly crazy in their own ways. Fun peeps. 😉
Did you enjoy this post? YES, YES I DID.
Most importantly, did you know the word zonked? Pbbt, of course!! I love Let’s Make a Deal. If I ever went, I’d go as either as Xion from Kingdom Hearts or in a curtain dress like Carol Burnett in that fake Gone With the Wind skit.
Also, how many of you have had sweet tea? And is anyone allergic to caffeine?
…I don’t like tea or coffee. Never had sweet tea? Sorry. *shrugs* I’ll go to the corner of shame, now.. XD

Of course! So glad you enjoyed the post and thanks for answering our questions!
High five, you’re from a fam with 7 kids too! Awesome!
Lol….and freshwater snail? Wow! We’ve had some pets, but that’s one we have not had…lol…
Yes! Zonked is a fun word! Sounds fun!
Okay, let’s clear the air, it’s okay, you don’t have to go to the corner of shame. Sweet tea is a southern thing and is served cold, so you might like it. It’s really good! Especially with a little lemon squeezed in it!

Speaking of y’all…I never use it singular. It’s always plural, but I’m VERY guilty of saying all y’all! 😂 What state are y’all from, if y’all don’t mind me asking?
And I would LOVE to meet y’all too!!!!! 😊 That would be soooooo cool!!!

Yes! It would be epic!!!
