Hey folks, I got tagged for this…MONTHS ago! Maybe even years ago….it’s been a while…but here we are! Finally getting around to posting it! This is actually two rounds of questions. XD
So let’s get to this! You might learn something about me you never knew…lol…

The Questions!
Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Some say introvert, others say I’m extrovert. I think I’m an Ambivert. I like talking to people, sometimes, but I definitely need a serious recharge afterward because my brain turns to putty after a while. XD
Your house is on fire. If you could take only three things with you (not counting animals and people), what three things would you grab?
Oh, um, my tablet because it has all my books on it. My phone because it has all my pictures on it from various vacations and I think everyone would want those if the house burned down. And for my third item…Probably…I’m having a hard time thinking of anything else.
Obviously I want my books but I have close to 700 of those… XD
Who is your least favorite character in a book, and why? (Feel free to rant, lol!)
Ooof, this is hard…I’ve had characters I didn’t like..but I’m not sure…honestly, not sure. XD
What is your favorite literary trope? Is there a book you’ve read that has it in it?
Probably the Amnesia trope and yes! I’ve read a few with this trope and written a novella and a short story with it as well…lol… (Check out The Black Rose Collection and Heard in Silence)
I also love redemption arcs! Founds family, and the hidden prince…lol…lots of intrigue, you know?
If you’re a writer, do you find something (a trope, concept, theme) that seems to appear in everything you’ve written/are writing? If you’re not a writer, do you find one of these things in books you’ve read that you enjoyed?
I’m a writer and I tend to write a lot of books and stories that focus on hope, trust, and purpose. Which just somehow end up weaving their way into every story I write.
I also had a friend point out that I have a lot of characters, all guys, who have limps. *shrugs* I don’t know what to say to that…lol…
Cats or dogs?
Definitely dogs! They are so loving and sweet and just cuddly! Also, we’ve always had dogs. I love them!
Honestly, I love animals…lol…not as much as Rissy does, but I do love the critters, but especially the doggos.
What is your favorite flower? Why?
Off the top of my head, Purple Fringe Orchids would probably be my favorite. Or Orange Fringe Orchids, or Monkey-Face Orchids. What can I say, my dad loves orchid hunting and we get to go along for the journey sometimes.
Which is fun, unless, as Jaidie mentioned, you end up in a swamp somewhere in August…lol…
Would you rather sing or play an instrument in front of a crowd?
Um, neither…but if I had to pick…play an instrument. Though I only know the bare minimum basics of playing the Appalachian Dulcimer and I haven’t touched it in about a year. *hides from my dulcimer teach who happens to be Jaiden’s best friend’s mom*
Would you rather read a romance or adventure book?
Adventure! Don’t get me wrong…I like a little romance, but more as side plot. Thus the reason I tend to read fantasy and suspense instead of romantasy and romance…lol…I love the action! I thrive on the tension! XD
While reading, in real live those situation would undoubtedly kill me.XD
What is one Scripture that has really helped you in your life?
Psalm 27:1.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
I love this verse because it reminds me that God is always with me, that He is my light and strength. That I don’t have to be afraid of the future because He is mine and He is with me no matter what.
Do you like asking questions or answering them better?
Answering them…but I usually end up as the person asking them because though I like answering a question I tend to ramble so I deflect by asking other people questions to keep from rambling. XD
I really need to work on that.
Questions #2
Tagged by Liliana Canada!
What’s your favourite book (or three!)?
Oh man, trying to come up with favorites…um, some of my top ones are The Fireborn Epics by Gillian Bronte Adams, The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson, The Green Ember Series by S.D. Smith, and Wars of the Realm by Chuck Black!
What do you think of self publishing and/or have you self published?
Considering I’ve self published over 10 books between me and my sisters, I think it’s safe to assume I like it. XD In all honesty, it’s hard but also so much fun and so rewarding and I love having complete control of my stories!
Where does your main source of writing inspiration come from? Some random corner of your brain you just stumbled upon? From the books you read? From music you love? From writing prompts? From your pet three-legged cicada?
I’d say…all of the above. Life is my main source of inspiration from the music, books, and movies I consume, to the trips I embark on, and the everyday moments inbetween it all. Inspiration and wonder are hidden around every corner if we only take the time to slow down and see them.
Do you have a music playlist that helps you focus/get in the mood while you write?
Yes! I curate a playlist for every book as I work on them. XD 100% custom…okay, so some of the same songs show up on almost every playlist. XD
(I’m stealing this one from Dee…;) What’s your favourite Bible verse and why?
See above for Psalm 27:1.
What genre do you write the most/what made you choose it?
Fantasy…and honestly, I’ve always loved coming up with the fantastical and unbelievable. The fact that I started writing fantasy when I’d only read a handful of fantasy books in my life, really nailed down the fact that I just loved it. After I started writing Fantasy I started reading more of it and now it is one of my favorite genres to read as well!
What genre do you read the most? Is it the same as the genre you write the most?
Definitely YA fantasy…and yes! I also read almost as much of MG fantasy and Christian Suspense (but I also dabble in those genres…*shrugs*)
Why and when did you start writing?
Boredom at the age of seven….but seriously at fourteen when my dad overhead me and my sisters playing out a game…for more on that story see our about page!
Do you have a dream publication you’d like to be featured in?
Enclave would be a dream…but I’m not seriously pursuing it at this time.
What’s one piece of writerly advice you’ve learned to appreciate?
There’s no right way to write a novel. I love this piece of advice from Go Teen Writers! After I got tangled in all the rules and questioned everything, this is what helped me find my footing again.
Last but not least, what is your favourite piece of writing you’ve ever created? It’s gotta be a completed project, not a WIP. Poem, short story, novel—you name it, so long as it is a completed project (or not..I didn’t properly answer all of the questions Dee gave me).
Oh, easy. Waveling is my favorite finished project thus far. It is book 2 in The Chronicles of Uriu, and I love book 1 (Emberling) but over the course of drafting Waveling filled a special place in my heart. It healed a piece of me and just…I wrote it so others would feel seen and in the process felt seen by myself for the first time. XD If that makes any sense…lol…
Conclusion:
Thank you so much for joining me for this rambling post! Do we have anything in common?
Kayti
