Remember back in January when we announced we were attempting the impossible by trying to write an YA epic fantasy trilogy in a little over 3 months? Yeah, we forgot to update y’all on that…ooops!
Book 1 and 2 came together pretty fast and we had almost 30 k trash drafts of those done in about a month each…and then came book 3…the finale, the last, the ending and the hardest book to write! We had so many ideas going in so many different directions and the character arcs weren’t quite where they should be so we’re rambling through their progression, adding notes to docs of book 1 and 2, scribbling in a random notebook, planning out future scenes to come back to and add in…
It was notes…we had 25 days to write 20k! Which doesn’t sound like much but take the weekends out of that equation, and most Fridays, and that we only wrote for 30 minutes to an hour each evening…things we’re looking pretty bleak.
We weren’t gonna make it.
We’d fail.
Surprisingly when you tell us we will fail it kicks us into overdrive and we begin working overtime…lol…skipping in at the last possible minute and one day before life went nuts with wedding plans…we wrote…
THE END!
All three trash drafts completed in less than four months! We were pretty impressed.
Can you read them?
Technically we could let you but they wouldn’t make any sense and 90% of the worldbuilding is still in our heads and scribbled out in a notebook and the character arcs could use some serious work…
At this point the drafts are a skeletan of what the stories need to be and we’ll flesh them out more in the coming months. Not right now though. Right now we are working on another project we abandoned…
The Dragon Prince Chronicles Book 4! So if you are excited about Shadowed Schemes you can add it to your GoodReads TBR now! We have no other promises other than the fact that we are working on it and will update with a publishing date as soon as we can!
Other than that we have two releases this fall and lots of stories in the works! What are you guys up to? Did you think we’d actually do it? (It’s okay if you didn’t, we weren’t sure we were gonna make it either. XD)
