Hey folks, we don’t know about you but life often feels like a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Sometimes it seems like you slow down for a time, only to realize you were climbing a mountain and then you begin the descent…and life gets shaken up and things you thought were nailed down get ripped away. It might be a melodramatic way to put it…but it definitely applies to much of life.

We’re not gonna talk much about our personal lives…that’s not why we blog, that’s not why your here, you’re here to learn about books and fun things! And honestly, we prefer our privacy. Currently life is going well! We’ve had twist and turns, as everyone did in 2025 we’re sure, but right now…things have mellowed and we’re praising God for the reprieve.

We did a lot in 2025…and we have a lot of things planned for 2026, especially in the first half of the year. XD So let’s get to breaking the fun things down!

January:

  • It snowed! (Not technically something we did, but the snow was fun!)
  • The second Writers’ Vision Freedom Conference!
  • A birthday!

February:

  • Lots of birthdays

  • Easter!
  • Lots of books being written
  • WE BECAME AUNTS!

May:

  • We made homemade poptarts which are the BOMB!
  • More books being written…maybe something was completed by Jaidie…details are fuzzy
  • More birthdays!
  • Mother’s day!
  • Went hiking for Memorial Day and found a grave of someone who had lived through the Civil War and WWI and all the amazing and mind boggling things that happened between 1827 and 1936!!! Cars, electricity, the westward expansion, the dust bowl, prohibition, all of it y’all!

June:

  • More writing…
  • Brothers Divided released!
  • Father’s day!
  • We went to the Live Action HTTYD in theatres with Jaidie’s bestie!
  • We went hiking but rained on, like soaked to the bone, and then we dried out in the sun while eating pepperoni and crackers. XD You have not lived until you’ve hiked in a thunderstorm! Highly recommended.

July:

  • 4th of July! We went hiking and saw a waterfall! (Side note: Ruger hated getting sprayed by the waterfall and about made Dad and Kayti fall in. XD)
  • Another birthday!
  • More writing…
  • A tree in our neighborhood got struck by lightning and is still standing…kinda of creepy, but also super cool!

August:

  • Kayti got her license!

  • We think another book might have been completed by Jaidie and Kayti??? Maybe?
  • Also a birthday!
  • We went to the Devil’s Courthouse! And the road was closed off so we had the whole place to ourselves and it was so awesome! The views were amazing, even if our dad did scare us by going to close to the edge for our comfort a few times. XD
  • Launched a Mercari store to sell our LPS and other things to fund Jaidie and Kayti’s trip to Europe and setting up Rissy’s future apartment!

September:

  • We hiked Pickens Nose, it was cool…Dad once again went too close to the edge for our comfort. XD
  • We tried being aesthetic on IG but got bored and went back to being chaotic. XD
  • Lots of birthdays!
  • Lots of writing…

October:

  • A birthday!

  • Passports were acquired!
  • Thanksgiving!
  • Minimal writing
  • Hosted a writing group for friends
  • We rehomed Smallsy-Jo *cries*. He needed more love than we could give him with our busy schedules and went to a great family from our old homeschool group so that’d made it less hard to say buy.
  • Ran two free book sales and gave away over a hundred books total!
  • We went on vacation! And we went to the Twin Arches and hiked the 5 mile loop! There were lots of cool caves!

December:

  • Christmas stories were worked on!
  • Heart of Keys released!
  • We made homemade dairy-free eggnog! (The BOMB!)
  • Made homemade dairy-free hot chocolate! (Profound! XD)
  • And lots of other diary-free (and dairy-full) goodies for Christmas!
  • Christmas!
  • Waveling professional edits completed!
  • Lots of fun things like going to a shop walk and buying nothing but it was fun! XD

So far 2026 has been busy…thus the reason that this post is just now going live at the end of the month. We are making progress in writing…though it’s a brand new project! We are attempting the impossible y’all…we are trying to write a Epic YA fantasy trilogy in 3 and half months! We want to finish this trilogy before Kayti and Jaidie leave for Europe and before Rissy moves out.

Things are changing for us this year, getting shaken up in some big ways. We’re excited, nervous, and sad all at the same time. But mostly excited.

Some other goals for this year:

  • Publishing The Code of Pirates (The Thieves of Arkrindon – Book 2) – March 3rd
  • Publishing Waveling (The Chronicles of Uriu – Book 2) – March 16th
  • Kayti and Jaidie going to Europe – April/May
  • Rissy’s Wedding – May!
  • Two more releases in the fall! More details coming soon!
  • Lots of writing!
  • Kayti hopes to finish Project Stone’s draft (The Chronicles of Uriu – Book3)
  • Jaidie hopes to finish Project Vow

Overall were hoping to knock out some writing, enjoy every moment, and just live our lives. Our biggest goal for this year is to go with the flow and trust God with the outcome. It’s a hard thing, we’ve been challenged with it thus far…but we’re beyond grateful that God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!

What are some of your goals for 2026? What did 2025 for look like for you? We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
