A Story Contest, NEWS, and Welcome to May

Hello folks! April was fun! We had lots of birthday madness and book shopping! It was a great time overall, albeit busy, but great!

We also had tech errors in the art department which resulted in a tablet hunt for Jaidie and a purchase. We discovered some great books and had fun with friends! We ate cake and ice cream and celebrated our great-grandmother’s 90th birthday! (Okay, that was this month not in April, but still, it was awesome)

Anyway, here’s what we’ve been into lately writing and otherwise:

For our newsletter subscribers next Friday is when that will be going out! If you’re not subscribed, you don’t want to miss out, so head over here!

Every month we send out exclusive sneak peeks of our WIPs! There will be one for The Dragon Prince Chronicles book 4 as well as any projects the three of us are working on by ourselves! If you want to know what to expect from the three of us in the coming months you should probably subscribe if you haven’t yet!

Emberling is chugging toward it’s publishing date of NOV 19th! I’ve got it up on Goodreads – here! And I hope to have it up on Amazon in the next few months, I just have to finish nailing down a few things. 🙂 But I’m so excited to share the first installment of The Chronicles of Uriu with all of you!

The Black Rose Collection has been out for 2 months! I’m so happy with this collection! I mean, wow! There are some awesome stories in it! (Other than mine which is definitely not the best in the collection, but it was the best I could do.)

Project W is a pain in the behind…lol…but I’m plugging along with it. I realized this week I need an additional POV to make the story work. So here goes to adding another boy to the the line-up leaving poor Mora as the only girl with 3 guy POVs…lol…

On another topic Writers’ Vision is hosting a short story contest until the end of the month you should totally check it out!

I have started a new story! Eeep! I’m not gonna say a whole lot about it, just in case it doesn’t end up being anything but I have to say I am super excited about this project! Jaidie is reading it over it as I write it, as is my boyfriend, to give me some incentive to finish. 🙂

Other than that, I got to make a yummy lemon cake for Jaidie’s birthday! And then we went on a low sugar, mostly gluten and dairy free diet thing…parents more so than me and the sisters, but let’s just say there’s been a lot more veggies and salads being made by the three of us for dinner…lol…because who wants to make a pot of mashed taters if only 3 of you are eating them…it’s a lot of work when your used to cooking for 5 to 9 people. XD

*ducks into room with new tablet clutched to chest* Wow, April was a doozy. My art app updated and locked me out so Kayti loaned me the funds to get a new tablet and then I finished my Avatar: The Last Airbender Fan Art!

We had my b-day celebrations and I got lots of books, as you saw, and I just got the last one from the ‘Zon in the mail! It’s the Graphic Novel of Watership Down! I’m so excited because Joe Sutphin is my favorite illustrator! Eeek!

And just this week guess what happened? Alright, I’ll tell you! I got my first official commission! Eeek! Which means I’ve actually been working this week! For someone other than myself or my sisters!

Oh, and I seemed to have promised a title reveal of Project BD and forgot about it amidst birthday madness, so stay tuned for that coming soon!

And last, but not least, I’m 17k into my current WIP, Project CP! And the story is just getting started! This is going to be a doozy of an adventure!

Well, we’re rewatching The Road to Avonlea Series, it’s such a fun cozy show y’all! Highly recommend! And then we’re still working on edits for Trail of Assassins and the draft of DPC 4 which is a little over 20k words long!

We also just read over an old dystopian project called 5055 and might begin dabbling in that for fun…honestly, we love the boys, but it gets old writing inside the same world sometimes. Like we are ready for the series to end, but also not…lol…it’s a weird feeling, so 5055 will be our relief project. We listened to some podcast with our parents and now have some cool ideas we want to add to this futuristic story set in…

You guessed it, the year 5055!

April was a good month, a productive month, and we are happy with how it turned out! Even if we did take an almost week long writing break for Jaidie’s B-day…lol…it was worth it and we’re still chugging on with our projects! We are so excited you guys! Just so insanely excited for all this year is going to bring!

Also, we have vacation this month so we’ll be disappearing for a bit! But that’s not for a bit yet…

We’d love to hear from y’all in the comments!

Oh goodness, I’m not sure. 2 or 3, but it’s the first time around. XD SAAAMEEEE GUS IS THE BEST!!! Felix is also amazing, but I think second place has to go to Jasper Dale for me. Alec King is also a favorite. But they’re all so good. *chef’s kiss*

Haha, sorry for the late reply. *hides* We’re halfway through season 3 now…lol…Yes, GUS! Lol…Yes! Jasper is amazing! And what’s even more amazing is that the actor doesn’t actually have a stutter…so he’s adding that and remembering where and when to do it. *mind blown* Aww, yes, Uncle Alec is just great! We know, right??!!!
